AND ALONG CAME MARY....

So....we have been in our "new" home for close to 2 years. I noticed that in our new neighborhood we have an ice cream truck that plays those cute little carnival like toons. This truck is a reminder that good weather is here, and children & adults alike can wait in line for their snowcones and rocket ice pops.... It's a peaceful feeling.

and another bead of joy here is that the men of our neighborhood get together and plant little landscapes around the area. Their signature touches are visable everywhere.

And another nice "homey" touch is that we have our own Avon lady that walks up our sidewalks, and leaves her little campaign books on our door.

This woman, come to find out her name is "Mary" (another sweet touch, a simple name). Mary left books twice at our home. We truly enjoy looking through them, and plan to order from Mary someday.

Well, the cold weather was upon us, and I was in our garage getting the snow shovel to clear the driveway, and ALONG COMES MARY. She walked up on me quietly so at first I was startled to see her. (she scared the CRAP out of me truth be told) "Your not the person I spoke to before." she said in her raspy, yet sweet mannored voice. I replied "No, you spoke with Penny before, I'm Barbara". "Oh" she said, as she walked passed me, to our kitchen door to see Penny personally. Mary handed Penny the books, and went about her way.

A couple of weeks went by, and ALONG COMES MARY again, up the walk to our door. I met her there, as she came up the stairs, and handed me 2 more books. "Are you ever gonna order from me?" she rasped.... I replied "oh, yes Mary once we find something we need". "I may stop giving you books ya know" she snapped back EAGERY....

Well, with that said, I spoke with Penny about ordering from Mary. So TODAY was the day! Penny called the number on the back of the Avon book, and we got Mary!

Phone rings & someone picks up: "Yeah"

"Hi Mary this is Penny from Knowl Street"

Mary replies"Oh, your finally gonna order, I had decided that those were your last books ya know. call me back about 10 minutes I'm on my cell phone in my caaaa".

Penny: Ok Mary.

We call back, Penny gives Mary a good order of about $55.00. Mary asks Penny who she was ordering from before here. Penny tells her no one. Mary DOESN'T BELIEVE HER! You see, one of the items that Penny ordered was online from the Avon site, but she wanted Mary to get the credit for the order, so she ordered it thru MARY!

Mary insists that Penny was ordering ONLINE the whole time, and that is why it took SO LONG for us to order from Mary!!

THIS WOMAN IS NUTS! NUTS! NUTS!

15 minutes later, poor Penny gets off of the phone practically HAGGERED and winded from defending herself! UNBELIEVEABLE!

My only regret is that Mary is going to call us for a FUTURE time to "get together" so she can make the "EXCHANGE"?? WTF??? "EXCHANGE"??

Just call, make sure we will be home, drop off my order I'll give ya the ca$h & LEAVE!!

Nope. now we gotta "GET TOGETHER"!! AAAAHHHHH!!
