I love that movie! I can really identify with Neil Diamonds character Hector Reed, Larry Seed, Milton Freed, Whatever the hell his name was in that movie. (Jessie Rabinovitch - I think that's it.) He went on to change his name to "Jess Robin" as a "stage name". Here is the gist of the movie to refresh your mind: The son of a Jewish Cantor must defy his father in order to pursue his dream of being a pop singer. A VERY Powerful movie.
I chose this scene to show you because of how powerful it is. To a songwriter, who needs desperately to "be around" music and let that creative outlet really lead them, this scene is awesome. You really get to see the growth of something special. (and I ain't talkin' bout' a boil on your ass!)
You wanna get deep? I got a good movie for ya.....
"Torch Song Trilogy"
If your gay, or ever thought of becoming gay (Lol) this is a good movie to watch. I have often thought of buying several copies of this movie and mailing them out to those people out there who just completely oppose those of us who are gay.
It's like opposing someone because they have dark skin, or light skin or have blue eyes, or brown eyes,or are Disabled, or disfigured. To those who think that GAY is a "choice".... YOU ARE 100% WRONG.
No one choses to be ridiculed, denied civil rights, be stared at, beaten, killed.
WHO WOULD CHOSE THIS?
When you click on the photo's above you'll see scenes that are important to me. The dialog in Torch song between Ann Bancroff and Harvey Firestein is not only powerful, but dead on to HOW IT IS.
I leave you now to go and cook up the 2 steaks I defrosted today. I am making Penny and I steaks with veggies and french fries. A nice laid back Sunday dinner.
~God Bless,
