Come And Share My Jungle Little Prince

I've been hunting for a mascot for my
Jungle Room. A little creature (or creatures) to claim that Jungle! After all, the Jungle is designed to have SOMETHING living in there! Something Unique.

Rain Foresty....

This photo of a frog named "Sydney" looking adoringly up at his "mum" totally takes the cake! Ain't he the cutest thang?

Then there is a photo of a "whites blue tinted frog". (Sydney is a "whites green frog".) What is my sudden interest in frogs?

Well, it's NOT JUST frogs for me....

As a child I ALWAYS wanted a monkey. As a matter of fact, this dream followed me straight into adulthood. But, in New York is is illegal to keep a primate, and God knows if I got one (which is easier than one may think) and I didn't have a permit, they (the town, the city) could confiscate the poor bastid! So that is off the block right there.

Then there is my LOVE of turtles. When I was young I would go looking for them. Once I found a box turtle (my favorite of all the breeds) I would keep them by putting them in the "sump" behind the bushes in our front yard. I would have 4 or 5 at a time. I would feed them strawberries, lettuce, watermelon, and bologna. (Yup Bologna.) But.... remember turtles can out live humans.

I once got a beautiful Sugar Glider we named "Gracie", but she passed away. I couldn't keep her in the Jungle anyway, it's a bit chilly down there, and she didn't have a little house, or bedding, or heat lamps for her, so....

That is off the list.

I even had a fancy for little hedgehogs at one point. Penny and I looked at them, and they feel .... YUCKY! Cute, but YUCKY!

I mean, you can sand the side of a barn with these little bastids!

So.... where am I now? ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE TOP with Sydney!

Out of most of the cases I've considered, animals of ALL varieties, and frogs of over 100's of different breeds. The one still on the table is the "Whites Frog" in blue. These guys have one of the BEST temperments, and yes, a frog can be devoted to humans. (WHO THE HELL KNEW??)
