Last night I had printed up the directions to ALL of the Yard Sales, and mapped the whole route from one to the other in order of distance. DAMN I WAS EFFICIENT!I arrived at my first Yard Sale.
I saw from across the street that it was a crappy one, but thought that maybe if I got out of the van and got a closer look, I would find a table THAT DIDN'T EXIST! ....WHAT A CRAP DUMP! This guy had "crap" strewn ALL over the place.
I looked at something, I wasn't quite sure that what I was seeing WAS really WHAT I was seeing.
He had a cardboard box of MEN'S UNDERWEAR....
$1.00 per pair....SLIGHTLY USED, Only a few tares!
I knew right there and then where my day was going! But, I got right back in the van and PRESSED ON....
So much for high hopes! This next one was ALL baby stuff, and as hard as I tried, I couldn't get my body to fit into their tiny clothes! However, as I was walking around their garage, sifting through pacifier's and diaper bags, I hear a little girl say to her mother: "What's "HE" going to buy mommy?"
Onto the 3rd Yard Sale. A FULL BOX of empty tic tac little plastic boxes . USED TIC TAC BOXES??? What the hell are these people thinking??
GOD I MISS MY PARENTS!
Apparently I CAN'T DO THIS ALONE!
Finally God took pity on me, and talked to Mother Nature about sending RAIN to end MY Yard Sale PAIN!

Although MOST of the Yard Sales were Crappy, Here is what I got....

I got some stuffed animals for the Jungle Room, some VHS Tapes for the Jungle Room, and 2 photo albums! THAT was my take!

Now... For the title of this blog post. Why name it Over 440??
Well, as you are WELL AWARE by now, I just completed my 1st AVON order as an AVON REPRESENTATIVE.
I did a BOO BOO. I was SUPPOSED to order 4.... 10 packs of Avon books.
Totaling: 40 books.
NOPE.... Not ME. I ordered 40 packs of 10 = 400 Books.
THINKING I caught this mistake, I changed it to 4 packs of 10.
(In reality ORDERING MORE and not correcting my original mistake!)
Soooo. TONIGHT I stuffed over 440 door hanger plastic bags with Avon Books! (Stamping each one with my personalized name stamper!)

I loaded them into the car tonight, and Penny and I are going to deliver them ALL tomorrow!
I will keep ya posted!

Oh boy Oh boy - we also went to a few yard sales yesterday and Dad said where is my daughter when I need her. It is just not the same. My big buy was a 3 hole puncher for $1.00 - brand new - considering I bought one a few weeks ago for the same price but it was used and put it in the car and haven't found it since I guess it wasn't a bad buy. Dad got his usual VHS tape and I can't think of what else but not much at all - liked the yard sale in syracuse my 75 cent flowers are in the bathroom and look great.
Oh well it's just not the same.
Be careful where you put the books so you don't run into someone else's territory - there might be war. What the heck there might be a reason for 440 books - your a pip so you never know - someone will like the comedy instead of a grouchy or nuts avon lady. Good Luck -
Go to the open house.
Holy crap 440?!! Well hey that is starting things with a bang. That bat you bought is STELLALUNA from the book by Janell Cannon. I have it too. When I was teaching it was one of my favorites to read to the class around Halloween. Beautiful illustrations and story.
