Funny how you really get to k now your animals when you live with them day to day.
Every Animal I have ever had, has a certain personality. This also goes for Bearded Dragons as well. Not all are created equal.
Daisy Juanita (A CONFIRMED FEMALE) is a sweet personality, hand waves, never head bobs to other dragons.(A sign of aggression/or mating ritual) never turned her beard black....and only got pissed off when our Yorkie Poo was being a complete pain in the ass! Angel Lynn (confirmed Male) is completely different.
Angel WILL head bob, and turn his beard completely BLACK, and even slap down his front foot on the ground just to make a point.
But.... I found a soft spot on my little bearded friend. A bonding point that I (as his daddy) love spoiling him with. BLACKBERRIES. I hope you enjoy the photo's of Angel (above).
Here's a P.S. on Daisy Juanita. She may be PREGNANT. YUP. That's righ
t! Female Bearded Dragons DO NOT need males to lay eggs. However, whatever eggs that Daisy may lay, will not be fertilized. Therefore NO BABIES. We noticed Daisy's behavior change a few days ago. Daisy is scratching on the sides of her cage, constantly digging the walls. This is a sign that 1. Daisy IS A FEMALE. 2. She may be looking for a place to lay eggs.
I will update as things may or may not happen. Tomorrow I will go to the dollar store and get some organic soil, (wet it a little) and put it in a tub. I will then put Daisy in it, and leave her alone for awhile to see if she relieves that urge to dig and lay eggs.
