I had a second moment where I was driven to help in a situation. One was my Mom's dog Fritzy when he stopped breathing last week. Then came my neighbor today. We had our living room blind open, and I had to mail a letter. I walked toward the front door, and noticed out the window, feet sticking out from infront of a minivan, and a cane strewn near the road.I yelled across the street "Do you need help?" and there was no reponse. I then ran across the street and to my fear a woman lay on the ground, pocket book contents all over the snow, grass and dirt. I then leaned at her side and lifed her head.... she came to. I told her I was her neighbor, and that I would help her.
The woman was in pain, and I took things real slow. I picked up the contents of her purse, and put it back where it belonged, and I managed to get her to her feet, and balancing with her cane, and my body.
She is disabled I come to find out, and her legs gave out.
I managed to get her into her apartment, sitting and settled.
She called her boyfriend, I waited until he showed up.
I left her my number, and told her if she needed anything to call.
Funny, I got an answer to a question. If you saw someone on the street that needed your help....would you help, or stay out of it?
I would help.
