Ok....It is 2:51 am Sunday Night/Monday Morning Now....
I got to bring Penny home on Saturday morning.
I drove her Mom home first
( I ran through a stop sign, missed a turn, and stopped at a green light....)
NEVER DRIVE WHEN YOU ARE OVER TIRED!!
When Penny got home, she LOVED our new room!
I spent ALL of Friday night/Saturday Morning converting our guest room into our bedroom. (Hence the lack of sleep).
I got Penny settled in, and then I fell asleep. I slept....and I slept....
and I slept..... I woke up a whole 24 hours later!
The dogs didn't eat, the bearded dragons didn't eat, and the 2 cats didn't eat Saturday....and Penny tried eating grapes, but choked, so she tried peanuts for dinner on Saturday.
When I got up, I made eggs in a frame for Penny and I for breakfast.
I took care of all the animals. I gave Rocky his meds....
I went to Rite Aide and got Penny all of her meds.
I do have to say that since Penny has been home,
Rocky hasn't left Penny's side.
I have been at Penny's beck and call, and I always will be.
Tonight I changed the dressing on her surgery site, and cleaned it.
Penny is having trouble swallowing at times, and must take it real slow.
I am chopping food for her or cutting up her food.
(in surgery they had to literally set aside her vocal chords to get to the discs)
The pain is there....and it has been HELL to sleep in bed with that aspen collar.
I set up the recliner for her in the room, and that seems to help.
Penny has 6 to 8 weeks in this hard collar.
We go to the surgeon in 10 days to see how she is doing.
I have to help Rocky eat, clean out the inside of his collar and give him his meds.
I have to help Penny eat, wash out the inside of her collar, and give her, her meds.
WHAT A WAY TO BOND!!
