When The Cup Overflows....
I am learning that if my cup overflows I should just get another cup to catch the excess. I shouldn't mop up the bountiful "mess" that awaits me, because as much as I mop it up, the water will still keep coming. The "excess" needs a place to go. It must be dealt with, not mopped into the corners where the residue lingers.
At 2 I had a Baby Bottle (Protected)
At 20 I had A Sippy Cup.(Still Protected)
At 38 I had A Milkshake. (with a hole in the lid for the straw - 94% Protected.)
At 41 I had a Dribble Glass. (You never knew if you were protected or not.)
What awaits me either takes me back or moves me forward. Either way, it is still up to me to get that other cup.
After much consideration I am ready with that other cup. The cup that will catch the water when it overflows, seeps out, or otherwise cracks the glass.
I am ready to fill that other cup and then drink the excess and have become a apart of me, and become that which ultimately makes me grow.
**Remember** "A Cup can overflow in several ways. Accept your bountiful bath with your face up toward the sun, or get another cup to catch the fierce wave that tries to spill apon you. Either way accept it, and move on" B.A. Del Piano 2009
