Okay....I am sitting in the hospital waiting room.
Penny just went in for surgery at about 2:30 pm.
Momma Suzanne and I just got out of the cafeteria (we were starving!)
The surgery we were told will last about 75 minutes if all goes as expected.
So far, so good.
I, on the other hand, have to split and pick up our cat Rocky
from the animal hospital.
They close at 6pm so, I am tight.
I wanted to be here when Penny got out of surgery,
but I have to bail Rocks out of his hospital cage, go home and settle him in, feed the dogs, let them out, and feed the beardies.
I figure after the surgery Penny will be in recovery for an hour. Momma Suzanne will be here for her when I leave, so she won't be alone at any time.
MORE LATER....
Penny's Mom and I are in the waiting room at this time 6:54 pm.
I had to leave here at 5 pm to pick up our cat "Rocky" from the vet.
I picked up Rocky, went home, fed the dogs, fed the Bearded Dragons, let the dogs out....
I called my Mom & Dad & then Momma Suzanne called me from the Hospital and told me that Penny's Doctor talked to her on the waiting room phone.
Penny got out of surgery at around 6 pm....She is now in recovery.
The operation went as expected (a "bit" longer than 75 minutes!)
They should be calling us soon to go and see her in her room.
It is now 6:58 pm and the hour in recovery is almost up.
The waiting room computer access closes at 8pm.
So I will update this WITH PHOTO'S when I get home tonight.

I made it back to the hospital BEFORE Penny got to her room!
I had to leave here at 5 pm to pick up our cat "Rocky" from the vet.

Momma Suzanne called me when I was home getting Rocky settled, and the girls and boys fed.... The Doctor told her that Penny would be in redcovery for about an hour or so....
So I had time to boogie back to the hospital waiting room with Penny's mom.
It was like I had never left.
I'm HOME it is 12:24 am now.
I left the hospital around 10 pm, Penny was sleeping.
She had been awake, and had some water and apple juice.
The pain was really bad, so they gave her some drugs.
I kissed her good night, and left.
Momma Suzanne is staying for the night.
I said I would return at 8am.
After I left the hospital, I went to the store and picked up groceries for the upcoming week. I plan on making Penny soups, and nice things.
Penny has to stay in the hard collar for at least 6 to 8 weeks, and then physical therapy for about 4-6 weeks.
I am doing laundry now....
Penny's favorite soft sheets!
